Almond Cream Braids

Quick, easy and so pretty! On a whim, I bought some frozen puff pastry and looked all over Pinterest to find an easy, but tasty recipe. This almond cream braid recipe was just what I needed. The actual prep was about 10 mins with a hand mixer. The puff pastry braiding was a bit of a mess, though! The braid on the silicone mat was my first attempt. I didn’t read the instructions and ended with more of a mummy wrap than a braid. The braid on the parchment paper was perfect! Plus, it had blueberries. I was so proud of these. My coworkers thought it looked like something that took a whole day to make, but really it took less than an hour (if exclude the time I put these bad boys in the freezer to firm up.)

I would definitely make these again. The almond filling wasn’t super sweet and the puff pastry was nice and crunchy. Maybe next time I’ll experiment with other fruit/nut mix-ins.
